What is the “I Remember” Project?

The ‘I remember’ memorial provides a community space to collectively grieve the loss of so many loved ones.

“This memorial would offer an embracing structure to contain painful emotions and the immense weight of grief. It would represent acknowledgement of the suffering of family, friends, and the community, and offer a place of healing.”

Between 2020 and 2021, drug poisoning deaths increased by 242% in Guelph Wellington-Dufferin counties.

Loss of this magnitude needs to be commemorated.
